Austin Lavalley

I'm a former product designer, occasional iOS developer, failed accountant, and aspiring software engineer currently living in Austin, TX.

I previously worked at Square building tools and products to help sellers manage and grow their small businesses. I've always found myself existing in the gap between the creative and the technical, and am now pursuing the ability to effectively bridge the gap between the two. I specialize in distilling complex interactions into their simplest form, poking around systems figuring out how they work, and hold the belief that all software should instill some degree of delight.

When I'm not staring at bad screens, you can find me staring at good screens, taking mediocre film photos, and fixing whatever the latest issue is on my 1989 Land Cruiser.
